Since this review is highly requested, I am going to make it quick rather than drafting it for a couple of weeks. The objective of this post will be quick and concise.
First of, I have to highly praise the opening of this anime. Probably one of the best opening I have ever seen. At first, I actually have problem finding the beginning main title, first picture. After several minutes, I finally found it. I was amazed how it is nicely integrated in the opening. Not only that, the director really does have a strong way of presenting emotional affect by using opening arts and images. Great render and integration! Opening is very well done.
If you are not familiar with the previous series, here is a great chance to look into them now. This is because Nekomonogatari is a prequel of the previous made series. I highly recommend you to look into the sequels after watching this.
Nekonogatari begins in a very interesting conversation. I am impressed that Araragi is brave enough to ask his sister, Tsukihi, for adive about love. During the conversation, there are constantly a lot of humourous comedy, and one of them does involve a little bit of sexual scene. At this point, I believe that I am not the only one who is surprise to see what happened.
As the main story progresses, the focus of story gradually turn to this particular character called Henekawa Tsubasa. Not just in this series, but the previous series we found that Henekawa is constantly fighting against her stress even though she does appear to be a regular top student in her class. The stress of her family and relationship have driven her to a point of having awkward personalities. For example, justifying her father's abuse.
After the main character found out her oddity, Henekawa even offer to do anything to prevent Araragi from telling anyone. This is the part that is really hilarious. Unlike any main character who fight for justice, Araragi is overjoyed with thought of his sexual intensity.
We can't help, but to like with him.
Henekawa's stree is one that she couldn't handle. When oddity approaches her, something unpreventable happens. Here the images tell them all.
Even the well known specialist, Oshino Meme, was no match for the cursed cat.
Here are some eye candies. Despite of she being the antagonist, she really is cute and attractive.
After the warning of the cursed cat, Araragi decided to seek for Shinobu's help with absolutely no shame. I personally think this scene is a little bit M, but I do enjoy that Mness.
Henekawa's oddity portrays her inner stress and here I can no longer tell whether it is her stress or insanity. The fight scene does seem to be little graphic for someone. However, I do appreciate that more than anything else. Action and brutality can be quite enjoyable.
The climax of the ending action is where Shinobu decided to come out. It really was a good surprise to see she stepping out to help Araragi.
After the dramatic scenes, Araragi was very clear that his feeling for Henekawa is something that calls "LUST", and he will never fall in love with her. Although it is both a bit sad and funny, it can't stop me from agreeing with him. His "LUST" is definitely something I can't refuse to agree on.
The moment where Araragi comes to the stairs is where it connects to Bakemonogatari. It makes a perfectly logical connection that makes an impressing ending. It also gives a nice smooth end to this review.
Hope you guys enjoy this.
